Being Taiwanese-American, I usually drink green or oolong or some other loose-leaf without a neat English translation, and always sans sugar or honey or any of the additional stuff that goes into Western-style tea — so I’m certainly no expert on tea time. I had never been given a cube of (pistachio!) meringue with my tea before, though, so I wasn’t sure whether to drop it into the tea (like sugar) or to eat it separately, as Priya suggested. Anyone know what the proper thing to do might be?
