Filomena makes the BEST tiramisu I’ve ever had, with espresso-drenched Savoiardi biscuits (i.e. ladyfingers) perfectly light and spongy, and mascarpone cream rich with the distinctive flavor of rum, and dusted with cocoa on top and in between each heavenly layer. Oh. My. Goodness.

Filomena’s rendering of tiramisu–Italian for “pick me up”–truly does justice to its name. It took all our willpower to NOT immediately buy the giant pan of tiramisu sitting in the chilled bakery display case…
