The ubiquitous Taiwanese wheel cake, or 車輪餅 (chelunbing), is a round waffle-like cake traditionally filled with red beans, but today can be filled with custard, chocolate, radish, or cheese – all 10 NT each.  While Hoola at ShiDa night market looks like yet another chelunbing stand, the cakes that come off the griddle here are shaped and stamped  like mahjong tiles. Moreover, the greater variety of fillings promise all kinds of flavors you likely haven’t tried before (I recommend the peanut).
