In honor of summer being halfway over, a post of a favorite classically D.C. summer meal last year:

Despite living in D.C. for three years, and despite my love of farmers markets/flea markets,  I had not yet been to Eastern Market. Finally, this Saturday I had the opportunity to browse the crafts and produce with Nikita and her friend Kendra. We stopped for lunch at Market Lunch, located in one corner of the indoor market building, where I was SO excited to try the soft-shell crab sandwich. The soft-shell crab was lightly breaded, just a little spicy; the touch of pink sauce I drizzled on added just a little more peppery spicyness. Summer in D.C., friends.
